Terms of Service

Welcome to Connected. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Connected mobile application ("App") and website at connectedcouples.app ("Website"), operated by Connected Couples ("we", "us", or "our"). By accessing or using our App or Website, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account, downloading, or using the Connected app, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the App.
We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. We will notify you of material changes through the App or via email.
2. Eligibility and Account Registration
To use Connected, you must:
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration.
- Maintain the security and confidentiality of your account credentials.
- Accept responsibility for all activity that occurs under your account.
You may register using your email address, Apple ID, or Google account. You are responsible for maintaining the accuracy of your account information. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that contain false or misleading information.
3. Partner Linking
Connected allows you to link your account with one partner using a unique partner code. By sharing your partner code or entering another user's code, you consent to sharing certain content (such as daily question answers, emotion check-ins, and shared lists) with that linked partner. You may only be linked to one partner at a time. To unlink from a partner, contact our support team.
4. Subscriptions and Billing
Connected offers both free and premium subscription tiers.
- Free tier: Includes access to daily questions, partner notes, shared bucket list, connection score, emotion check-ins, and basic insights at no cost.
- Premium tier: Available as a monthly ($6.99/month) or annual ($49.99/year) subscription. Includes all free features plus AI-powered insights, question packs, date night planner, games, weekly check-ins, couple assessments, and priority support.
Subscription payments are processed through the Apple App Store and managed by RevenueCat. By purchasing a subscription, you agree to the following:
- Payment will be charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.
- Subscriptions automatically renew unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
- Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period at the rate of your selected plan.
- You can manage and cancel your subscription through your Apple ID account settings or the App Store.
- No refunds will be provided for partial subscription periods. Refund requests must be directed to Apple in accordance with their refund policies.
We reserve the right to change subscription pricing with reasonable notice. Price changes will not affect your current billing period.
5. User Content
You retain ownership of all content you create within Connected, including your answers, notes, bucket list items, and reflections ("User Content"). By using the App, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to store, process, and display your User Content as necessary to provide the service, including:
- Sharing your answers and content with your linked partner as part of core app functionality.
- Processing your content through Anthropic's Claude AI to generate relationship insights.
- Using anonymized, aggregated data to improve the App (individual content is never shared publicly).
You are solely responsible for the content you create. You represent that your User Content does not violate any third-party rights or applicable laws.
6. AI-Powered Features
Connected uses Anthropic's Claude AI to provide personalized relationship insights and analysis. By using AI-powered features, you acknowledge that:
- AI-generated insights are provided for informational and entertainment purposes only. They do not constitute professional relationship counseling, therapy, medical advice, or any other form of professional advice.
- AI outputs may not always be accurate, complete, or appropriate for your specific situation.
- You should not rely solely on AI-generated insights for important relationship decisions.
- Your data is processed by Anthropic in accordance with their data usage policies and is not used to train their models.
7. Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to:
- Use the App for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts or data.
- Share your partner code publicly or use partner linking to harass, stalk, or harm another person.
- Submit content that is abusive, threatening, defamatory, obscene, or otherwise objectionable.
- Attempt to manipulate, reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App.
- Use automated scripts, bots, or scrapers to access the App or its data.
- Attempt to circumvent subscription requirements or payment systems.
- Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation with any entity.
- Interfere with or disrupt the App's servers, networks, or infrastructure.
8. Intellectual Property
The Connected app, website, brand, logo, design elements, question content, assessment frameworks, and all related intellectual property are owned by Connected Couples and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, create derivative works from, or publicly display any of our proprietary content without our prior written consent. Your use of the App does not grant you any ownership interest in our intellectual property.
9. Third-Party Services
Connected integrates with the following third-party services, each governed by their own terms:
- Apple App Store: App distribution and subscription billing.
- RevenueCat: Subscription and purchase management.
- Anthropic (Claude AI): AI-powered relationship insights and analysis.
- Google Places API: Venue data for the Date Night feature.
- Supabase: Data storage and authentication.
- Expo: Push notification delivery.
- Sentry: Error tracking and crash reporting.
We are not responsible for the terms, privacy practices, or availability of these third-party services.
10. Disclaimers
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not warrant that:
- The App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure.
- Any defects will be corrected in a timely manner.
- The results obtained from using the App (including AI-generated insights) will be accurate or reliable.
- The App will meet your specific requirements or expectations.
Connected is not a substitute for professional relationship counseling, therapy, or medical treatment. If you are experiencing relationship difficulties, domestic violence, or mental health concerns, please seek professional help.
11. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, CONNECTED COUPLES AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, RESULTING FROM:
- Your use of or inability to use the App.
- Any unauthorized access to or alteration of your data.
- Any content or conduct of any third party on the App.
- Actions taken based on AI-generated insights or recommendations.
- Any other matter relating to the App.
Our total liability for any claims arising from or relating to these Terms or your use of the App shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Connected Couples and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the App, your User Content, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of another party.
13. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account at our sole discretion if we believe you have violated these Terms, engaged in prohibited conduct, or for any other reason with reasonable notice. You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us at support@connectedcouples.app.
Upon termination:
- Your right to access and use the App will cease immediately.
- Your data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy (within 30 days).
- Any active subscriptions should be cancelled through the Apple App Store to prevent further charges.
- Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination will remain in effect.
14. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from or relating to these Terms or your use of the App shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation between the parties.
If a dispute cannot be resolved through negotiation, you agree that any legal action or proceeding shall be brought exclusively in the courts of competent jurisdiction. You waive any objection to the exercise of jurisdiction over you by such courts and to the venue of such courts.
15. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that the remaining provisions of these Terms remain in full force and effect.
16. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Connected Couples regarding your use of the App, superseding any prior agreements or communications.
